Credit by Articulation

WHAT IS SECONDARY ARTICULATION?

Articulation is a process that allows a student to receive a letter grade, along with the unit value of the course, on their college transcript for high school courses. The credit actually appears on a student’s college transcript with the same letter grade they received in their high school class. For example, if a student receives a grade of “A” in their high school articulated course, their college transcript will show the grade of “A” next to the articulated college course. Active articulation agreements must be in place between the student’s high school district and an RCCD college at the time the student was enrolled in the high school class.

WHAT COURSES ARE ARTICULATED?

Not all courses are articulated. You can find the most up-to-date listing of articulated courses by clicking one of the following links Searchable Online List | Excel Format.

Sort and filter the list by the school district or ROP you attend to verify the course(s) is articulated.

STEP 1: APPLY FOR A RCCD STUDENT ID NUMBER?

Complete an RCCD college application for admission by clicking on one of the links below:

It is free to complete the college application and you need only apply to one of the RCCD colleges.

STEP 2: FIND YOUR RCCD STUDENT ID NUMBER?

Students must apply to Moreno Valley College, Norco College or Riverside City College in order to obtain a RCCD Student ID number (see step 1). After your application has been processed you can check WebAdvisor to obtain your student ID# by clicking here.

If you need help logging into Webadvisor click here.

STEP 3: APPLY FOR CREDIT BY ARTICULATION?

There are two ways for students to apply for articulated credit. The first is for students who are currently enrolled in a high school or ROP articulated class. The second is after a student has completed an articulated class and has received a grade. Which one are you?

Students who are currently enrolled in a high school or ROP articulated class. Create a student account online by clicking here.

  • College ID: Enter your 7-digit RCCD Student ID#.
  • Verify your email address so you can be reached with information about your student account.
  • Double check your birthday to ensure that it is the same as what is shown on your RCCD application.

Students who have already completed a high school or ROP articulated course. If you have completed an articulated class (even if you are still in high school) and the class appears on your high school transcript with a grade, please click here and fill out a High School Transcript Review Request form.

STEP 4: HOW TO HAVE ARTICULATED CREDIT APPEAR ON YOUR RCCD TRANSCRIPT?

Currently enrolled student - if you are in the course now, and you requested articulated credit through CATEMA, your teacher will submit your final grade at the end of the semester and then RCCD will place the class and the final grade you received on your RCCD student transcript.

Students who have already completed an articulated class - credit will be posted to your RCCD transcript after you have completed the Request for Articulated Credit via Transcript Review (step 3) and your grade has been verified through submission of your official high school transcript.

Note:

It can take up to six weeks for credit to appear on your transcript. To verify that credit has been posted to your RCCD transcript, login to your RCCD Webadvisor account and click under ‘academic profile’ to view your unofficial transcript.

The total number of credits a student may earn for articulated courses may not exceed 16 units.

Students have up to 4 years to complete the process for credit by articulation.
